North Foreland Golf Club

BOOKINGS GO LIVE FOR NORTH FORELAND'S NORTHCLIFFE COURSE WITH FOURBALLS FOR JUST £35

East Kent’s highly-regarded seaside golf club, North Foreland, is giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy its unique 18-hole par-three Northcliffe Course from just £10 per person or £35 for a fourball when booking online.

With tee times in high demand since the reopening of golf courses on March 29 and most local golf courses moving to member-only to cope with the continued UK golf boom, North Foreland has opened online bookings for its quirky short course to give the casual golfer the opportunity to play this spring for an affordable price.

Located on the picturesque Kent coast in the Dickensian holiday town of Broadstairs, North Foreland is committed to make golf accessible for all ahead of the new season, the increase in daylight hours, The Masters just around the corner, as well as The Open Championship returning to Royal St George’s, located just 13 miles away, in July.

The Northcliffe Course is the oldest course of its kind in the country and the only short course designed by renowned architects Herbert Fowler and Tom Simpson. It is perfect for those newer to golf, families looking for an outdoor activity to do together or more experienced players looking to hone their short game on holes that vary in distance from 50 to 140 yards.

Offering stunning views of the sea from every tee, the course boasts an enviable reputation for its excellent course conditions and fun, yet challenging, adaptation of golf. Its informal approach, with no dress code, as well as the opportunity to play a round in less than two hours, makes it a big hit with those looking for a relaxing game after work with friends.

Chris Dowrick, North Foreland’s general manager, said: “We know how difficult it is going to be to get a tee time this summer and are really pleased to have the opportunity to help beginners learn the game and continue to capitalise on the sport’s growth in popularity.

“Our Northcliffe Course allows us to appeal to a different audience than our main course with beginners and families, as well as still giving experienced casual golfers, who aren’t members of a club, somewhere to play. It’s often assumed that it won’t appeal to these golfers and its par-three holes can easily be tackled, but over the years has lulled players into a false sense of security and provided a decent challenge to golfers of all abilities.

“And at just £10 per person, in addition to our amazing online offer of £35 for a fourball, it provides a great couple of hours of enjoyment for an unsurpassed affordable price. Golf shouldn’t break the bank!”

For those who enjoy the course and want to play it more, the club offers a Northcliffe Membership which gives golfers unlimited use of the Northcliffe course and practice facilities – with priority access and an advanced booking window, 15 per cent discount on food and drink purchased in the Halfway Hut or in the clubhouse’s Lighthouse Bar & Brasserie, discount on function hire, an exciting calendar of club social events, as well as the ability to hold a Northcliffe handicap and play in golf competitions all year round.

The tee sheet is now live for the Northcliffe Course and visitor bookings can be made seven days in advance.
