North Foreland Golf Club

Ladies Section

Welcome to North Foreland Golf Club’s Ladies Section.

Our ladies, numbering about 95, are a diverse, fun but most of all a very friendly crowd.

We have a great cross-section of players of all ages, some of our members have been with us for more than 40 years, but some not long at all.

Our 'ladies day' is a Tuesday where between 40 and 50 ladies play regularly both in competitions and for fun in social golf days.

However, we understand that working women find it difficult, perhaps sometimes impossible, to play midweek, so we also have allocated Sunday afternoon times available for those of us who cannot make the Tuesday, as we want everyone to be involved equally.

We’re proud of our strong presence in all Kent County Ladies Golf competitions, including Bradley Cook, Pearson, Tappin and Three Feathers. We regularly participate in mixed matches too and visit other courses during the Spring and Summer months in our friendly competitions.

Those of us who are 7-day members love to take part in our annual Bank Holiday events too, namely the Whitsuntide Cup and Peace Cup in August.

In short, we enjoy a diverse social and competitive calendar year-round, which gives everyone ample opportunity to be as involved as they wish to be.

We are a long-established club which does pride itself in maintaining certain traditions, but we also embrace new ideas and ways of encouraging our members to enjoy and improve their golf.

"Becoming a new member at North Foreland Golf Course and in particular the Ladies Section has been a very pleasant experience for me.  Everyone has made me feel so welcome and all the information I have needed as a new member has been provided in a way that has made it easy for me to get started."- Tracy Myers

To help new members get to know us and get involved we have introduced:

  • A great buddying system to help new members integrate and understand the club. This includes an introduction pack to guide you through how our ladies section operates, giving details of competitions throughout the year and advice on golf etiquette.
  • More social and fun competitions. Join in our Christmas Short Course Competition (often conducted in fancy dress as you can see!), Ladies Pink day in support of the EKUBS charity, as well as other charity competitions. And be sure to try to ‘Beat the Pro’, when you and a partner can challenge the pro and Lady Captain.

  • Regular short group sessions with our resident pro to help sharpen and develop all aspects of your game in a fun and friendly environment. These sessions are open to ladies from beginner through to the more experienced. A recent warm-up session was well attended and we are glad to report no muscles were pulled!

  • Ladies’ Taster Sessions, both as an introduction for established golfers looking for a new home, or those completely new to the sport.

With the added advantage of a superb 18-hole par 3 course, we really can offer a wide range of golf in a fun environment for all abilities, ages and handicaps.

"I moved over from the Northcliffe Course in July and was not sure what to expect but I have been welcomed into the Ladies Section of NFGC.
I am thoroughly enjoying playing in the competitions on the Long Course. The ladies are very friendly, facilities are very good and there is a wonderful atmosphere from all members and staff who work at North Foreland Golf Club.
A great course to play on, very well maintained as well as challenging to play on. I would certainly recommend you come and try the course."- Sheila Cleary
